For A Chemical Free Non Toxic Home

Make these simple non toxic chemical free 2-4 ingredient recipes for cleaning and freshening up your home!

Dishes (Handwashing) with Dr. Bronner's:

Individual item washing:

Pre-dilute 1:10 with water. Squirt on a scrub brush. 

In sink:

Add 1-2 Tbsp Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap in a large sink of water.

Use a small squirt of soap for one pot, or more if needed. To avoid water spots in hard water conditions, dry dishes by hand.

 

Laundry with Dr. Bronner's:

2–4 Tbsp. Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap for High Efficiency  washing machines.

Optional: Add ½ c. vinegar to the rinse cycle.

Optional: For whitening/deodorizing, add ¼ c. baking soda to wash cycle.

Double each of these amounts for standard washers.

 

 

Handwashing Delicate Clothing Items with Dr. Bronner's:

1 capful (1 Tbsp.) Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap per 1 gallon cold water.

Swish gently, then soak for 10 minutes. Swish again. Rinse with clean water. Gently press out excess water with a towel. Hang or lay clothing flat to dry.

 

Mopping (Wood, Laminate, Vinyl, Stone & Tile Flooring) with Dr. Bronner's:

2 ½ Tbsp of Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap per 1 gallon of hot water.

Submerge mop (microfiber, preferably) and wring thoroughly. On wood and laminate, avoid excess water and mop up wet areas.

For smaller areas, add 2 tsp. Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap to a quart of water in a squirt bottle.

 

All-Purpose Cleaning Spray with Dr. Bronner's:

¼ c. Dr Bronner's soap added to a quart of water in a spray bottle.

Optional: For extra antibacterial, add ¼ tsp. tea tree essential oil. 

Use on any surface that is safe in contact with water-stone countertops & tile; wood (painted or sealed, not waxed); plastic toys and such; stainless steel; sinks & toilets; and more!

 

 

Windows with Dr. Bronner's:

Mix 1 Tbsp. Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap in a quart of water; pour into in a spray bottle. Spray and squeegee. Follow up with pure club soda, or half vinegar/ half water and squeegee. OR use microfiber towels.

 

Toilets with Dr. Bronner's:

Predilute 1:4 Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap with water in a squirt bottle. Add ¼ tsp. tea tree oil. For best results, flush toilet. As it drains, spray or squirt 2-3 drops of Castile Soap directly on toilet brush. Sprinkle baking soda on the brush, scrub bowl, let sit 10 minutes, flush.

 

Tile, Grout and Scrubbing Paste with Dr. Bronner's:

 Mix 2 Tbsp. Baking Powder with 1 Tbsp. Water and a few drops of Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap. Blend thoroughly and use a brush to clean.
