A Crazy Carnivore Collaboration in Bozeman, Montana

This July, I traded the sweltering Scottsdale, Arizona heat for the cool pine-filled air of Bozeman, Montana, and it was absolutely worth it. The very first Steak & Butter Gal/Gang MeatUp brought together some of the most influential leaders in the carnivore community — and an intimate group of fewer than 100 passionate attendees.

The weekend was packed with connection, education, delicious food, and a shared belief: your body always wants to heal, and the Carnivore lifestyle can help it do just that.

⭐ Carnivore Leaders & Speakers

The lineup was truly jaw-dropping. We had the chance to listen, learn, and mingle with:

  • Bella Ma, The Steak & Butter Gal, and her husband Max (Steak & Butter Guy)

  • Dr. Robert Kiltz, fertility doctor and advocate for keto/carnivore eating

  • Dr. Shawn Baker, orthopedic surgeon and author of The Carnivore Diet

  • Dr. Lisa Wiedeman, founder of Carb Sober Cruises (Can’t wait for Cancun in January!)

  • Ray (CarnivoreRay) and CoachRay, longtime carnivore advocates

  • Kerry and Alan from Healing Humanity & HomesteadHow, working on an exciting documentary

  • Todd, the incredible host from Bozeman, who has lost over 300 pounds on carnivore and reversed chronic illness

And of course, the Steak & Butter Gang community itself — supportive, hilarious, and truly inspiring.

🥩 The Food – A Carnivore Feast

When carnivores gather, you know the food is going to be incredible. The buffet spread included:

  • Pasture-raised, grass-fed beef from DryLakes Ranch

  • Organ meats (yes for some, no thank you from me!)

  • Raw milk, cheese, and butter (yum!)

  • Electrolytes from LMNT, one of the event sponsors

Dinner was served on gorgeous wooden cutting boards, which we even got to take home as part of the swag bag — filled with beef tallow face masks, salts, LMNT packets, freeze-dried carnivore treats, and more.

And let’s not forget… the tomahawk steaks. Epic.

🎤 Learning & Connection

The doctor panel was the highlight for me (I even had four of my own questions answered!). Topics included everything from autoimmune disease, to inflammation, to carbs and working out on carnivore.

Dr. Kiltz also shared some touching family stories, while DryLakes Ranch taught us about regenerative farming and the importance of supporting local ranchers and raw dairy producers.

Between the educational talks, I spent time just soaking in the stories of other attendees — people from across the United States, Canada, and even Australia. My friend Julie joined me from Seattle, and we both agreed that the small size of the event made it even more meaningful.

🎆 Fireworks, Fun & Friendship

Despite the rain, we were treated to a beautiful fireworks show that capped off the night. Saturday brought blue skies and even more connection. The entire weekend was a mix of fun, food, and friendship, and I left feeling inspired and encouraged in my own carnivore journey.

I didn’t film as much as I planned — because I was truly present and taking notes — but I did capture the Doctors Panel video, which you can watch here.

🎁 Why This MeatUp Mattered

This wasn’t just another conference or health event. It was about community and collaboration. The carnivore lifestyle is still seen as “extreme” by many, but weekends like this prove that it’s healing real people, changing lives, and building momentum.

Whether you’re curious about carnivore or already deep into the lifestyle, events like this show the power of connecting in person, learning from the best, and of course, feasting together.
